However, for a simplified implementation, you may connect your Mikrotik to the internet, and then connect a laptop or a mobile device to the configured port of your Mikrotik, to test the authentication.
If your Mikrotik has been configured properly, the first thing you will see on your laptop or mobile device when you attempt to connect to the internet is a splash page like the one below.
If the captive portal does not show, you may try the following:
- Open a non-https page, like speedtest.net.
- Check if your copy of the login.html file has been updated. If not, please download a copy of your login.html here, and then contact the VISP Sys Admin to assist you with the changes.
- If the captive portal still doesn't show, please notify the VISP Sys Admins to review your configuration.
